IWC Destriero Scafusia Ref. 1868 (18k Yellow Gold)
The IWC Destriero Scafusia is an absolute legend of haute horlogerie, created in 1993 to celebrate the manufacture's 125th anniversary in a strictly limited run of 125 pieces. Housed in a substantial 42mm 18k yellow gold case, this monument of mechanical ingenuity was celebrated as the most complicated production wristwatch of its era, uniting 21 distinct complications.
As seen in W50142VS_1B.jpg, the watch features a classical white dial with Roman numerals that masterfully integrates an array of functions. It incorporates a split-seconds (rattrapante) chronograph, a minute repeater activated by the slide on the left side of the case, an astronomical moonphase, and Kurt Klaus’s synchronized perpetual calendar with a highly distinct four-digit year indicator showing "2026".
Powering this masterwork is the manually wound Calibre 18680, featuring a flying tourbillon in a lightweight titanium cage visible through the case back. This timepiece is a true holy grail for collectors, representing the ultimate post-quartz crisis triumph of traditional Swiss watchmaking.
